Where is My Case Filed and Where is My Hearing?

Please note that just because your case might be filed in a particular city does not mean that you would have to attend your Meeting of the Creditors in that city. There are a host of different bankruptcy hearing locations across both Oregon and Washington.

Where you file your bankruptcy case depends on where you reside or have your principal place of business or principal assets.

Cases filed in Seattle: Clallam, Island, Jefferson, King, Kitsap, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish and Whatcom counties

Cases filed in Tacoma: Clark, Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Pierce, Skamania, Thurston and Wahkiakum counties

Cases filed in Eugene: If you reside in Benton, Coos, Curry, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, Lake, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion or Polk counties.

Cases filed in Portland: If the debtor’s address is in any other Oregon county, filings must be made in the Portland office

There are bankruptcy hearing locations across both Oregon and Washington. It is likely, though not guaranteed that your hearing will be at the location closest to you.

Oregon:

Bankruptcy hearing locations include Portland, Salem, Bend, Eugene, Roseburg, Medford, Klamath Falls, Pendleton, and Seaside.

Washington:

Bankruptcy hearing locations include Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane, Vancouver, Bellingham, Breverton and Everett.
